Hello! I’m Antara, an Indian illustrator, author and designer based in Cambridge, UK. There are many wonderful things that inspire me to create, but history, animals and sarcastic humour are my mainstays. I primarily draw inspiration from vintage illustration techniques, with their layered, screen-print like aesthetic. I use a mix of Risograph printing and digital editing to achieve a similar visual style.
My work won Third Prize in the Macmillan Prize For Illustration 2024, and made it as a finalist in the Bologna Illustrator’s Exhibition 2024.
When I’m not making books, you can find me crocheting furiously, moodily plucking away at my electric guitar or rocking out to my record collection.
